Eco Friendly Laser Cutting

We use solar panels to offset a large portion of our power usage. While our large metal work laser requires high levels of power when cutting, all other power use is supplemented with a 5.2kW solar array. Any energy not use is then fed back in to the power grid.

When our equipment is not in use it is then turned off and stored away to ensure no excess power usage.

Using a laser cutter and it’s associated software means we can reduce material wastage as much as possible, however it will never be zero!

We partner with local metal recyclers to ensure off cuts are recycled by being melted down and reformed to be used again! Some of our other offcuts of various shapes and forms have been donated to local artists or beginner fabricators to help them learn a new skill.

We have not yet found a recycling option for our timber offcuts, but if you have an idea we'd love to hear from you!
When creating our resin products we also endeavour to use silicone reusable items as much as possible to reduce waste.

All our timber is supplied by sustainable providers using certified or managed timber sources wherever possible. We endeavour to source as many materials from local sources as we can, however this is not always possible in this region.

Acrylics and epoxy resins are not the most eco-friendly materials, so we ask, if you are using plastics, that you make sure it’s for something to be loved and used for a long time to prevent it ending up in landfill.

All our water use is collected exclusively from rainwater collection! Using the machines we do requires quite a bit of space, however we have put this space to good use by using it collect rainwater into a massive 120,000L tank.

When mailing your new items, we are very excited to be using HeroPack compostable packaging! This can simply be broken up and added to your compost to be readily broken down to aid in reducing landfill.

We try to source our own materials as locally as we can to support other local businesses and reduce our carbon footprint, however this isn’t always possible.

When we do have supplies delivered we do our best to ensure that all that packaging doesn’t go to waste! So if you receive your item in some pre-loved packaging, know that this is one of our endeavours to reuse and recycle as much as we can! This includes using MDF offcuts to keep your item flat and protected during delivery, re-using bubble wrap and other padding options, and reusing boxes which may be perfectly sized for your delivery!

We are a small family business who greatly appreciate the support of our local community. We believe that what we consume and how we interact with the environment is very important not only to us, but to the whole community and society as a whole.

To this end we try to be as environmentally conscious in our personal life as we are in our business choices. We endeavour to grow some of our own produce, to shop locally to support other businesses doing good things, and we support local community and sporting groups in any way we can by either donating products, or donating our time.
